(By Kelly) Leaving Fernie was a little difficult, especially moving on from our rafting adventures, but we were 'Berta bound and feeling excited. We'd received some pretty positive reviews about the road ahead, i.e. Tail winds, which never happened but the summit to the crowsnest was much easier then we thought it would be. We got to the top and all had a HUGE dance party and team hug. Our last summit in BC! Then just down the road we arrived at the welcome to Alberta sign. I danced my way to the sign. I was VERY excited to be finished BC.
After hitting the BC/Alberta border we cruised through Frank Slide, which was amazing!
All in all we had a fantastic day together. Everyone was in high spirits, it was a perfect day of riding, and we all felt releived and, honestly, amazed, at having finished our first province. We'd already come a long way but it felt good to put one finish line behind us, having actually survived BC as a team, still intact.
